The London Regiment Welfare and Benevolent Fund (W&B Fund) is a discrete charitable fund, managed by its own Trustees according to a governing document agreed with the Charity Commission.

It was established to ‘relieve either generally or individually serving or former members of the London Regiment and their dependents who are in need by virtue of financial hardship, sickness or disability’ and for the ‘promotion of the efficiency of the London Regiment by the provision and support of facilities and activities for the efficiency and well-being of service personnel.’

It operates completely independently of the Association’s governance and discharges its responsibilities according to its own existing rules, practice and precedents. The W&B Fund Trustees retain the responsibility for making any award decision, according to the W&B Fund’s own eligibility criteria. The Trustees have the ability to make awards in any case raised from the Battalion or escalated from the company-level Associations as well as any referred to them by the LRA.
